About this Project
JLK is working on the environmentally sensitive vaults that hold the priceless archives for the Chicago History Museum. JLK also completed the renovation of the historic Wrigley Gallery interior for the new Chicago Flag exhibit and modernization of adjacent restrooms.
Services included:
- $25M vault and plaza restoration project will be complete in the spring of 2022
- JLK coordinated with the museum exhibit and facilities staff and the preselected contractor to ensure that the project was on budget and on schedule for a July 4th opening.
- This project included new programmable LED lighting, illuminated signage, and power and data connections to support the new exhibit within the historic interior.
- JLK coordinated with the exhibit design team and the electrical contractor to ensure that the new electrical infrastructure was correctly located for the new exhibit while maintaining the historic details of the gallery.
- In addition, the project included the addition of two vestibules to the adjacent Rubloff Auditorium to mitigate sound from the auditorium and a complete gut rehab of adjacent restrooms.
